This week, I’m joining up at Layla’s place for the ‘Word of the Year’; the concept is inspiring – choosing one word to focus on for the year. Read more about it here.
I have always loved words, and love using words in my decor; I even have poems & quotes that are meaningful to me matted & framed hung in my vanity/dressing area.
Here are some of the words I considered for this ‘project’:
1. Joy – because, well, who doesn’t want joy in their life?
2. Believe – this has been my ‘touchstone’ word for as long as I can remember.
I showed you the ‘art’ in the bedroom using simply this word.
I love the beauty & the power of this word.
3. Patience – not my strong suit, so I probably should focus on this word and maybe aspire to having some, but frankly, I don’t think I have the patience.
4. Pretty much anything ever said by Maya Angelou.
So, I considered all those – but none of them felt…..right. So what did I land on?

Why FAITH? Here’s the dictionary definition:
Belief or Trust : belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something, especially without logical proof.
Set of Beliefs : a strongly held set of beliefs or principles.
Loyalty : allegiance or loyalty to somebody or something.
You’ll never know what’s in store for you – but what you can do is trust the process, trust your ‘tribe’, and trust yourself.
People will show you who they are, BELIEVE them.
Understand that possibilities are far greater than your imagination.
Be strong enough to realize that even silence can be complicity; protect what and who you hold dear.

I created the soulstyle 'musings’ as a place to share my passion for color & interior decor, my thoughts & inspirations, and sometimes my life — I'm really glad you're here!
