Ok, well no one really lives in a shoe….but my obsession with grand and beautiful closets runs deep, so I offer for my your viewing pleasure the following decorgasmic closets.
Angels are singing as this door opens – you hear them, right?
It could very well be my passion for shoes that feeds this frenzy.
The black is outstanding. As are the glass front doors – feels posh & ladylike.
Is this a closet, or simply a foyer to the bathroom? Either or, I’d go.
LOOK at all the shoes that can live here. And because you might have trouble deciding, you can sit and have tea. And just stare at them.
But for most of us mere mortals with closets that are not the size of our living rooms, and do not have shelving for Imelda quantity shoes, there’s still hope….we too can have Pretty.
Before you install (or remove, follow steps, and re-install, as I did – sorry Mister) a store bought organizer system, spray paint it! Why stick with boring white or fauxblah wood grain? Yes, you can spray paint laminate! I went with high gloss black, high gloss white, and bright blue on the drawers. Centsational Girl has detailed instructions here.
For Petes sake (and your own), have proper lighting. A chandelier (obviously) is ideal, but at least not just a bare bulb.
And, if you’d be thrilled to just be organized and Pretty is too far off your radar at this point, there’s a plethora of ways to keep it together so that you aren’t shrieking in frustration every morning.
Pegboards or hooks on the wall maximize unused space – hang your purses, hats, scarves, etc.
See the little lights? Stick on. Closet ambience.
DIY jewellery & sunglasses organizing. You could totally do this.
Make some plans, and do it – you’ll be glad you did.
And now, the piece de resistance – what I believe to be the most fabulous closet in all the land. The most perfect. All the necessary and unnecessary items and decor to make me swoon with glee.
I love the chandelier, the white (of course), the mirror bedazzlement, and the hits of vintage. Right down to the tulips, this room speaks to me.
There’s a certain bliss to having pretty for the pure and unadulterated pleasure of it, and your closet is so simply and affordably a place to treat yourself to that bliss.
