Let’s talk Powder Rooms.
And I mean gorgeous and fabulous powder rooms.
Powder Rooms are pretty much purely functional spaces…I think that just means it’s even more important to make sure they’re pretty….kind of a distraction from all that, um…function. Plus, powder rooms are intended for guests, so it’s kind of the polite & hospitable thing to do.
Here’s some inspiration for Powder Room design & decorating….
This is tile. Seriously. Amazing colours and nothing is ever wrong with that Missoni vibe. Ev–AH.
Moody wall colour and outstanding sconces. Everyone would look pretty in this powder room. It’s like a gift to your guests.
My clients powder room needed a fairly serious intervention…in fact, I don’t even have any ‘before’ shots for you. But let’s just leave the past in the past and focus on today….
The wall colour is Sherwin Williams ‘Passive‘, a soft dove gray. The over the mirror lighting was moved to the ceiling so that a dazzling chandelier could be added. It’s more than enough light, and the shape & prisms cast beautiful shadows everywhere. And to make that dazzler even prettier, the ceiling had to be black (SW Caviar).
If you’re considering painting a bathroom ceiling (other than white), I implore you to paint the ceiling fan vent. In this case, a quick spray paint was all that was necessary. Again, the function (ie: venting) – not exactly what you want to be a focal point.
Fresh white towels, artwork, and a silver concave mirror complete this brand new Powder room. In person, this powder room is as soft and ethereal as it looks…..
So, does your Powder Room wow you?
